I have to admit I was terrified of turning 40, I mean it just sounds so.... OLD.

and then i started to panic because most day i dont even feel grown up, i still feel like im muddling through life hoping Im doing a good job. But i have reflected and though I dont always feel like it, Im the same as the 22 year old me I sometimes feel I am on the inside.

so heres some lessons I have learned along the way....

40 things I ve learned at 40

"Too loud, too soft, too bold—be you anyway."

5. You can survive on a lot less sleep than you think (just not forever).
"This too shall pass—rest will come."

6. No one fully knows what they are doing.
"We’re all just figuring it out as we go."

7. Most of us are hoping we’re doing the right things.
"Progress over perfection."

8. Being willing to say 'I don’t know' is one of your greatest assets.
"Humility opens doors pride never could."

9. Time over money.
"You can always make more money—but not more time."

"Run your race, not theirs."

11. Having a plan is a good thing.
"A goal without a plan is just a wish." – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

12. Reaching for something good matters.
"Dreams are the seeds of purpose."

13. You have to say no to some things to say yes to the right things.
"Every ‘yes’ is a ‘no’ to something else—choose wisely."

14. Never stop learning.
"Be a lifelong student—growth is your superpower."

15. You are in control of the words you speak.
"Speak life—your words carry weight."

16. Find and use your gifts.
"Your gifts weren’t given to stay hidden."

17. Do hard things.
"Growth rarely happens in comfort zones."

18. Just embrace who you are and who you’re not—and make peace with it.
"Comparison steals joy; authenticity gives peace."

19. The only way to fail is to not try… everything else is an opportunity to learn.
"Fall seven times, stand up eight." – Japanese Proverb

20. No one is thinking about you as much as you think they are.
"People are too busy with their own worries to be watching yours."

21. It’s never too late to change.
"New seasons bring new chances."

22. God is a God of process, not instant gratification.
