40 lessons I am taking into my 40s.

I have to admit I was terrified of turning 40, I mean it just sounds so.... OLD.

and then i started to panic because most day i dont even feel grown up, i still feel like im muddling through life hoping Im doing a good job. But i have reflected and though I dont always feel like it, Im the same as the 22 year old me I sometimes feel I am on the inside.

so heres some lessons I have learned along the way....

40 things I ve learned at 40

1. You are more capable than you think.
"She believed she could, so she did."

2. Friendship is quality over quantity.
"Better one loyal friend than a hundred acquaintances."

3. There will be people that don't like you—accept it.
"You’re not everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s okay."

4. For some, you will be too much of something.
"Too loud, too soft, too bold—be you anyway."

5. You can survive on a lot less sleep than you think (just not forever).
"This too shall pass—rest will come."

6. No one fully knows what they are doing.
"We’re all just figuring it out as we go."

7. Most of us are hoping we’re doing the right things.
"Progress over perfection."

8. Being willing to say 'I don’t know' is one of your greatest assets.
"Humility opens doors pride never could."

9. Time over money.
"You can always make more money—but not more time."

10. Stay in your lane.
"Run your race, not theirs."

11. Having a plan is a good thing.

12. Reaching for something good matters.
"Dreams are the seeds of purpose."

13. You have to say no to some things to say yes to the right things.

14. Never stop learning.

15. You are in control of the words you speak.

16. Find and use your gifts.

18. Just embrace who you are and who you’re not—and make peace with it.
