How to Plan Your Week With God: The Sunday Rhythm That Changed Everything
Let me start by being honest, for a long time, Sunday nights made my stomach drop.
Maybe you know that feeling, somewhere between folding laundry and mentally preparing for Monday, my brain would start creating a list of everything I hadn't done yet.
The meals.
The school things.
The work deadlines.
The emails I definitely meant to reply to.
Suddenly I was lying there thinking, “How is it possible that tomorrow hasn't even started and I already feel behind?”
I tried all the things. New planners. Colour coded calendars. Productivity hacks I found online that promised to transform my life if I just woke up at 5am, drank lemon water, and somehow became a completely different person before breakfast.
But Spoiler alert: that was not the answer.
The problem wasn't that I needed to become better at squeezing more into my week. The problem was that I was planning my week without first inviting God into it.
I was trying to organise my responsibilities before asking what actually mattered.
And that changed everything.
Because learning how to plan your week with God isn't about creating a perfect schedule or adding another spiritual habit to your already full list.
It's about creating space to pause, listen, and remember that you were never meant to carry your week alone.
If your days feel full but your heart feels disconnected, you’re not alone. I’ve seen how easy it is to move through a busy season reacting to what needs your attention instead of asking God what matters most.
Learning how to plan your week with God changed the way I approached my time, my priorities, and my peace.
Imagine starting Monday knowing what matters, instead of discovering it by Wednesday when you're already exhausted.
That shift begins with a simple pause.

Introducing a Faith-Filled Weekly Reset
Honestly... this started by accident. ( maybe I'm not supposed to admit that).
One evening, instead of diving into meal prep or emails, I sat on my bed and decided to journal and pray about the week ahead. I asked one simple question:
"God, what actually matters this week?"
That moment changed everything.
What began as a 10-minute pause became a non-negotiable weekly rhythm, a time to slow down, reflect, and plan my week in alignment with God's peace, not all the pressure (which i've come to realise was mostly self imposed)
Over time I realised I'd been doing the same things every week without recognising it was actually an intentional system. It had just become second nature. Now, it's the first thing I do before every new week begins.
The Shape of It: Simply
I won't walk through every step here, that's what the full Weekly Rhythm Reset breakdown is for. But the shape of it is this:
I pray before I plan.
Not fancy or long, just honest. "Lord, thank You for this new week. Show me what really matters. Help me see what You want me to focus on, and what I can release." It's amazing how quickly peace replaces pressure when you start by asking God to lead.
I look back before I look ahead.
what went well, what drained me, where I saw God move, what needs to shift. Growth happens in the pause, not the rush.
I narrow my focus to what actually matters, instead of trying to do everything. "Let all things be done decently and in order" (1 Corinthians 14:40) has become the heart of this rhythm. Order isn't about control — it's about creating space for grace.
And I prepare the space I'll actually spend time in,
not for aesthetics, but for atmosphere. A tidy corner, a candle, my Bible open beside me. When your environment reflects peace, your mind begins to as well.

Why It Works
When your week begins with intention, your days naturally follow with focus.
This works because it combines the spiritual and the practical:
prayer, reflection, and purpose, held together in a foundation that stays steady even when life feels unpredictable.
It also stops the Sunday-night spiral before it starts. You no longer step into Monday with dread. You walk in with direction.
How to Make It Yours
Start small. This doesn't have to be an hour-long ritual, even 10 minutes can shift your whole week.
Find a quiet corner and a notebook. Ask God to lead your week. Reflect on what worked and what didn't last week. Write down what actually matters most. Prepare one space that will bring you peace.
That's it. No fancy system, just simple consistency.
What You'll Notice Over Time
You'll begin to feel calmer on Sundays, because you've already invited peace in. You'll feel more present during the week, because you're not constantly chasing what's next. And you'll feel more aligned with God, because you've given Him space to lead your steps.
This isn't about getting everything right. It's about walking in grace, week by week, trusting that small, faithful moments of order lead to a season of peace.
Friend, you don't need a bigger planner, you need a better rhythm.
One that starts with prayer, moves with purpose, and ends in peace.
So take thirty minutes this week. Light a candle, grab your notebook, and ask God to meet you in the middle of your mess. He's not waiting for a perfect plan. He's waiting for a willing heart.
